Anne Messitte, Consulting Publisher
Long-time publisher and editor, Anne Messitte, has joined Zibby Books in a consulting role as the imprint’s Publisher. For more than two decades as the Publisher of Vintage and Anchor Books, and Executive Vice President of the Knopf Doubleday Group at Penguin Random House, Anne published some of the world’s most influential and bestselling writers including Toni Morrison, Paulo Coelho, Margaret Atwood, Stieg Larsson, Sandra Cisneros, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Ian McEwan, Philip Roth, Robert A. Caro, David Grann, Chris Bohjalian, Kevin Kwan, and Dan Brown. With a strong belief in entrepreneurial creativity as a business principle, Anne now heads her own company, working with start-up and established publishers and major authors on editorial projects, publishing strategy, and global brand management. She has served on non-profit and corporate boards in the areas of arts, education, and book publishing, and is a graduate of Harvard, magna cum laude, in History and Literature. Anne lives in New York City and the Hudson Valley with her husband and two sons.
